Dexter Southfield is an independent school where boys and girls in Pre-K through Class 12 develop their individual talents and build an ethical foundation for life. We are seeking candidates for a self-starter who can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting, working independently and as part of a team. You have strong people, communication, and organization skills and enjoy a role that allows you to interact with students, families, employees, vendors, visitors, and others who make up the Dexter Southfield community. To be successful in this role, you must be able to:
• Assist the Director of Operation and their designees to ensure effective daily operations
• Maintain a welcoming, organized, and inclusive entry point and process for all who enter campus
•Serve as the primary point of contact and reception to students, employees, families, vendors, visitors
• Perform administrative duties, including phone coverage, mail processing, walk-in assistance, scanning, mailings, timesheets, triaging calls, dispatching, etc.
• Manage confidential information with utmost discretion, informing others as needed
• Manage student attendance records, dismissals, and permission forms
• Support transportation coordinator with bus dispatch, schedules, staffing, etc.
• Assist with School-sponsored programs and events
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• College degree preferred; high school diploma required
• Two or more years of full-time job-related experience desired
• Working knowledge of technology; comfortable using two-way radio communication device
• History of demonstrating discretion with highly confidential and sensitive information
• Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills (written, oral, non-verbal)
• Working knowledge of technology and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiarity with or ability to learn Blackbaud, Carrina, and other software high desirable
• Strong customer service skills to make all feel welcomed and supported
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and maximum accuracy
• Self-starter and willingness to initiate and complete routine administrative tasks
• Ability to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build professional relationships and trust among diverse constituencies
• Commitment to actively create and contribute to an engaging and inclusive workplace
• Ability to be flexible, effectively manage stress, and adapt to changing work priorities
